It’s important we do band together. This means we should be ALSO be attending protests that the “left” has been doing by ourselves for 2 yrs. If we really are fighting fascism that includes fascism effecting ppl overseas in a g-cide being live-streamed in Gaza. A horrifying war that WE HELPED PAY FOR. 50501 Protestors should be also fighting w/ Palestinians, Iranians, Ukrainians, Congolese, Sudanese, Romanians, Georgians, Hungarians, and all the others being culled worldwide by the oligarchs.
Most ppl who identify or are seen as “leftists” really don’t expect perfection. We do expect as little hypocrisy as possible tho. We’ve been living in a very propagandized bubble in the US for a very long time. A lot of what’s happening in the world is either partially or largely OUR FAULT. While the 99% are now under attack here, it’s like we think we’re the only ones our government are effecting.
We can only have a “big tent” when the hypocrisies of ppl in that tent is acknowledged and worked on. Where efforts are made to show solidarity. Example: If you wanna fight fascism while carrying a flag of Isreal, you haven’t realized yet the extreme hypocrisy of that. Honesty of what’s occurring is imperative rn. Not white-washing, not excusing, not being uninformed of what’s happening around the world not just in this country.
For me it’s been hard to find the tent - some centralized connection would be helpful. Not just to coordinate the actions of various groups - my zip code could give me a list of things going on around me at the times I’m available and looking for a place to plug in…. But also to share ideas and information- don’t need bosses but do need people to collect organize and distribute information.. and warnings.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, leadership and level-headed organizing! Whether some people want to admit it or not, your efforts and those of the other 50 states, are having a positive impact. We had a great No Kings Day in 2 communities. Very upbeat but solid in our messaging.

Music is the universal language - even borrow one… “Do You Hear The People Sing?” From Les Miserables would be effective… or “We Are The World” or some such thing????? People marching and jointing voices is much more compelling than individuals shouting “ Fuck Trump” or whatever…. Does anyone else think an anthem would be powerful??? “My country it’s of thee”?????
