50 Protests. 50 States. 1 Movement.
50501 South Carolina maintains the values of the 50501 National Movement — commitments to inclusivity, non-violence, and conflict resolution — in the Palmetto State.
We are a decentralized, volunteer-powered movement. That means there’s no paid staff, no paid organizers, no paid protestors — and very little hierarchy. We work together to make these actions happen and get everything done. Think you don’t know enough to join us? We bet you do, and we’re happy to guide you! Please reach out if you have questions about becoming a 50501 South Carolina volunteer.
Dum spiro spero. While I Breathe, I Hope.
Our South Carolina state motto seems appropriate for the times. While we breathe, we hope.
And members of the 50501 South Carolina movement are giving us hope every day.
South Carolina is standing against authoritarianism.
Throughout March and April 2025, more than 15,000 South Carolinians participated in nationwide 50501 Days of Action to protest executive overreach and defend the Constitution.
At dozens of actions around the state, you have raised your voices — shoulder to shoulder with strangers who now feel like neighbors — united by hope, by outrage, and by love.
You organized.
You connected.
You donated.
You were loud, and you were seen.
This is what solidarity looks like.
But let’s be clear — this isn’t just about protesting a couple times a month as some naysayers like to claim. Protesting is one tool. In the weeks and months ahead, we will ask you to continue not only protesting but also continue using other tools to apply pressure to this regime — calls, emails, mutual aid, and more.
The road ahead is steep. But we have each other and we must keep going.
Dum spiro spero!
What a great launch!!!
